A Ferry Happy Birthday

Another early start today! We had a ferry to catch from Mallorca to Barcelona – another new experience for us. Despite being a long journey, we were comfortable in our pullman seats and it went remarkably quicker than expected.

Barcelona immediately had an appeal which excited me(us). We navigated our way to the hotel relatively easily by bus and the metro.

Back in SA, Roy had patiently waited to book a surprise evening at a special venue to celebrate my birthday, however, as is common in July :-), it started raining and sadly we had to change the outdoor plans (managed to reschedule for Wednesday night though) Plan B was now to find somewhere to eat in a new city…We were blessed to come across a Spanish Tapas bar, La Nonna Delia, which had an appealing selection of meals and we enjoyed a delicious supper outside (rain had stopped). We decided to try something different for dessert and headed to The Chocolate Box where I delved into Churros con Chocolate (churros with a cup of chocolate sauce for dipping) …mmmm, no words needed. Roy had his usual scoops of gelato. I could get used to a summer birthday in Europe…where to next year?
