Day 2
Wow, what a wonderful day seeing the tourist hotspots in London! It was time to experience London, something we had been planning for so long! We walked down to Surbiton Station and caught our first train to Waterloo. Experienced the Underground too! We started at Leicester Square where we made our way to the Golden Tours Hop On/off bus.
First stop was the Tower of London – so many people and so much to see! We ended up spending more time than expected. Loved seeing the London Bridge – a wonderful feature.
We enjoyed lunch alongside the Thames while watching some Wimbledon tennis on the big screen then made our way back to the bus and headed to the London Eye – wow, spectacular!
We highly recommend buying as many tickets online for the attractions you wish to see. By doing this it meant we had one less queue to stand in and an allocated time slot. While this can be seen as limiting it does force you not to get distracted, spend too much time somewhere and land up missing an experience altogether. We bought a London Eye +1 ticket which gave an additional ticket for one other of a selection of London attractions at a small discount. Every penny(pound) counts! Which additional attraction did we chose. Keep reading to find out …
Somehow we managed to find and meet up with Merlaine and Gareth – such a treat! We headed to Piccadilly Circus, had a drink at a pub, enjoyed an Italian supper and finished off with a delicious sweet treat at a confectionery restaurant. Experienced the night life of London walking around. One doesn’t even realise the time of day in summer. Headed back to Surbiton on the Underground and train and walked in at about 22h00ish after a wonderful fulfilling day! #blessed
