Yesterday it was really nice to have a bit of a relaxing morning before packing my bags heading to my hotel for the start of my Topdeck tour. The roads in Rome are a very scary place. There are very few road markings and people seem to do what they like. For the last 2 days I have been a pedestrian and watching from a far. However, yesterday I caught a taxi to the hotel as it was just easier with all my luggage. This was a very scary ride. They all drive very fast and clearly have very good brakes. People are on their phones a lot and just push in when they feel like it. It was a very interesting experience.
Once I made it to the hotel, in one piece, a few of us starting the tour went for a wonderful lunch. We found this restaurant that had a buffet for only €12 and the food was delicious. From there we met our tour guide and then went into the city centre.
That evening I did a food tour with Eating Europe. I highly recommend this. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. You are given a lot of food and visit places you wouldn’t normally go to. Some restaurants don’t even have signs in the front so only the locals know about it. We tried everything from breads, to pasta, to cookies and of course gelato. They were all amazing!
After that, it was straight to bed. Today we are traveling towards Venice! Should be good! Ciao
