Wimbledon Day 5

We are back with daily posts from now on but there has been a lot of movement since my last post all the way back on day 1. The rain has been playing havoc and day 5 was no different with many matches not being played or not being finished and so not many matches to speak of from day 5. Sinner, Paul and Dimitrov cruised through their matches in straight sets. Humbert came through a tough match against Nakashima winning in 4 sets and the match of the day was between Alcaraz and Tiafoe. The defending champion finding a way to come through a 5 set encounter after being 2 sets to 1 down.

19th seed, Navarro, came through the challenge of the inform Shnaider in 3 sets to book her spot into the 2nd week. 12th seed, Keys defeated 18th seed, Kostyuk, in straight sets. Vekic came through a tough 3 set encounter against 28th seed Yastremska to book her spot in round 4. Gauff cruised through the British qualifier Kartal and Raducanu continues her recent form as she brushed aside the challenge of the 9th seed, Sakkari in straight sets.

Onto the fantasy leaderboard and we have a new leader in the form of ‘Highly Strung’ who sits on 130 points and has a lead of 5 points over 2nd placed, ‘Miny Moe’. ‘Sinner’s Injuries’ sits in 3rd place with ‘Miss Hits’ not far behind in 4th. ‘Pam the Slam’ fresh off her French Open glory sits in 5th with the last prize currently going to ‘Super Smash’ who moved up 36 places and now sits in 6th.
The Wooden spoon battle is close and tight but it is currently going the way of ‘Faulty Feet’ who sit on 66 points and 7 points behind their nearest rival.
