Roland Garros – Round 4 Complete

The Quarter-Finals have been set. Can you believe how quickly the French Open is going? Day 9 saw comfortable straight set wins for 2nd seed, Sabalenka; 4th seed, Rybakina and Andreeva. Paolini the 12th seed lost the first set but dropped just 1 game in the next 2 sets to book her spot in the next round. Svitolina was the big pick who lost on day 9 as 16 people had picked her.

11th seed, De Minaur became the most valuable pick after his 4 set win against 5th seed, Medevdev. De Minaur has now scored 31 points in the competition. 1st seed, Djokovic survived another scare as he once again came back from 2 sets to 1 down to win the match. Ruud beat Fritz in 4 sets. The first 2 sets were very tightly contested but Ruud was the better player in the 3rd and 4th to book a quarter-final meeting against Djokovic. The late night match was between Zverev and Rune. Zverev came through yet another 5 set match as he fought back from 2 sets to 1 down against the young Dane. Out of the players who lost on day 9, Fritz was the most picked player with 19 picks and Rune was behind with 16 teams picking him.

Onto the leaderboard and it is a lot closer than yesterday at the top. ‘Pam the Slam’ leads the way but their comfortable lead from day 8 is gone and they now lead by just 2 points over ‘Jaden’s Team’. Then there is a 7 point gap to 3rd place ‘Tennis Turtles’. A joint 4th place between ‘Sinner’s Injuries’ and ‘Eeny Meeny’. The last prizes are held by a joint 6th place between ‘Left is Best’ and ‘Hawks Hacks’.

The wooden spoon position is also getting awfully tight. The gap now just 3 points between ‘The Ghost’ and ‘Wild Cards’.
