US Open – Day 11
🌟 Women’s Singles: Osaka’s Renaissance & Anisimova’s Statement
Naomi Osaka is officially back. After a rocky couple of seasons, the two-time US Open champion looked every bit the contender as she dispatched Karolina Muchova in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3). Osaka’s serve was sharp, her movement fluid, and her mental game locked in. Muchova fought valiantly, especially in the second set, but Osaka’s experience and poise under pressure sealed the deal.
Meanwhile, Amanda Anisimova stunned the tennis world by taking out world No. 2 Iga Swiatek in a clinical 6-4, 6-3 victory. Swiatek, known for her baseline dominance, struggled to find rhythm against Anisimova’s aggressive shot-making and fearless court coverage. This marks one of the biggest wins of Anisimova’s career and sets her up for a high-stakes semifinal against Osaka.
💪 Men’s Singles: Felix’s Fire & Sinner’s Showdown
Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No. 25 seed, pulled off a gritty four-set win over No. 8 Alex de Minaur, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7), 7-5, 7-6 (7-4). The Canadian’s serve was a weapon, and his ability to stay composed in two tiebreaks proved decisive. De Minaur started strong but couldn’t maintain the momentum as Felix’s confidence grew with each set.
The final men’s quarterfinal featured Jannik Sinner vs. Lorenzo Musetti, a battle of Italian flair and finesse. Sinner, the top seed, came out blazing, dismantling Musetti’s defenses with relentless baseline power and precision. Though the full score wasn’t available at the time of writing, Sinner’s form suggests he’s peaking at just the right moment.
đź”® Looking Ahead: Semifinal Fireworks
With Osaka vs. Anisimova and Sinner vs. Auger-Aliassime on deck, the semifinals promise to be electric. Will Osaka’s resurgence carry her to another title? Can Felix ride his momentum past the top seed? And will Anisimova continue her giant-slaying run?
One thing’s for sure: the 2025 US Open is delivering a masterclass in unpredictability and passion.
Stay tuned for more updates as the tournament barrels toward its thrilling conclusion.
