Wimbledon – Ladies Semi-Final

🎾 Women’s Singles Semifinals

It was a day of big breakthroughs and dominant performances in the women’s semifinals:

  • Amanda Anisimova caused a major upset by defeating top seed Aryna Sabalenka in a tense three-set battle, 6–4, 4–6, 6–4. This win sends Anisimova into her first Grand Slam final and makes her the youngest American finalist at Wimbledon since Serena Williams.
  • Iga Swiatek was in top form, dismantling Belinda Bencic in a commanding 6–2, 6–0 victory. Swiatek, already a multiple Slam winner, will now play in her first Wimbledon final.

🏆 Mixed Doubles Final

  • Katerina Siniakova and Sem Verbeek clinched the mixed doubles title with a double tiebreak win over Joe Salisbury and Luisa Stefani, 7–6(3), 7–6(3).
    • It’s Siniakova’s first mixed Slam title and Verbeek’s first major overall.
    • Despite strong support from the home crowd, Salisbury and Stefani came up just short in key moments.

👫 Men’s Doubles Semifinals

  • The British team of Julian Cash & Lloyd Glasspool made history by becoming the first all-British men’s pair in 65 years to reach a Wimbledon final. They beat Granollers & Zeballos 6–3, 6–4.
  • Meanwhile, Rinky Hijikata & David Pel surprised the field by reaching the final after an impressive semifinal win over the top seeds.

  • Concerns emerged around Novak Djokovic’s fitness after he skipped practice following a slip in his previous match. He’s set to face Jannik Sinner in the semifinal, but his status remains uncertain.

⏭ Looking Ahead

  • Toady features the Men’s Singles semifinals: Djokovic vs. Sinner and Alcaraz vs. Fritz.
  • The stage is set for an exciting weekend, with Swiatek and Anisimova facing off in the women’s final and both doubles titles still up for grabs.

Our leader ‘Deuce Bags’ remain in the lead and their lead remains at 10 points over still joint 2nd place between ‘Wuthering Heights’ and ‘Get a Grip’. ‘Carry on Regardless’ and ‘Slamdunk’ remain in 4th and 5th spot respectively meaning that there has been no change to the top 5 on day 11. ‘SERVED’ drops a point and a place and now sit in 6th with ‘Lucky Strings’ and ‘Grasshopper’ sitting in joint 7th spot.

47th spot is currently being occupied by ‘Dropshots’ and 87th spot is currently being occupied by ‘YNOT’, The other spot prizes are still hotly contested with multiple people occupying the spot. The wooden spoon remains with ‘Forrest Town’ who sit 7 points behind ‘Green Gables’.
