Wimbledon Day 10
Day 10 saw the second round of quarter-finals being played. Unfortunately we lost a quarter-final as De Minaur had to pull out due to a hip injury and so Djokovic got a walkover into the semi-finals. He will face Musetti the 25th seed who managed to beat 13th seed, Fritz, in a tight 5 set encounter. Fritz managed to take the 1st set before losing the next 2 sets and trailing by 2 sets to 1. The American managed to hit back in the 4th but Musetti proved way to strong in the fifth to book his spot in the semi-finals here at Wimbledon.
On the ladies side, The match of the day on paper was between Svitolina and Rybakina but the 2022 Wimbledon champion was too strong for the 21st seed and it was Rybakina who took the match 6-3; 6-2. She will face a surprise opponent who has finally found some form again after injury, Krejcikova, who notched up a straight set win against the in form Ostapenko.
Onto the fantasy leaderboard and we have a tie for the lead as ‘Left is Best’ and ‘Super Smash’ both sit on 194 points. ‘Miny Moe’ has lost a bit of ground in 3rd and now sits 6 points behind the leaders. ‘Hawks Hackers’ have bumped up 10 spots to enter the top 5 and sit in 4th. ‘Hit and Run’ also had a great day to move up 7 places into 5th. ‘Aced It!’ and ‘Sinner’s Injuries’ sit in a joint 6th.
We have a wooden spoon winner…’Kick My Ace’ who was eliminated yesterday has been demoted into 83rd and last place and with no players left cannot move up. Congratulations to them.
‘String Courtets’, ‘Last Minute Jive’, and a top 5 competitor, ‘Miss Hits’ were all eliminated on day 10.
