The semi-finals are set after another day of quarter-final action.

Day 10 was not the most exciting day in terms of scores produced but some very solid matches were played on day 10. In the mens draw Medvedev and Rublev were up against each other for a spot in the semi-finals. Rublev is yet to reach a grand slam semi-final and he is still yet to make a grand slam semi-final as his compatriot, Medvedev, who is playing some very good tennis at the slam where he has won before beat him in straights sets 6-4; 6-3; 6-4.

In the other men’s match which had a lot of hype around it after a huge performance from Zverev who had beaten Sinner in round 4 also ended up being a straight sets win. Alcaraz was just too good and showed why he is number 1 seed and the defending champion as he beat the German 6-3; 6-2; 6-4 and will now face Medvedev in what should be a great semi-final encounter between 2 former winners here at the US Open.

The ladies matches on day 10 were also both straight sets wins. The new world number 1, Sabalenka, cruised past Zheng who had a great tournament up until this match. Zheng pushed Sabalenka in the 2nd set but it was too late and Sabalenka took the match 6-1; 6-4.

The night session ladies encounter was between Wimbledon Champion, Vondrousova and home favourite, Keys. Once again a match with a lot of hype around it but in the end it was a comfortable 6-1; 6-4 win for Madison Keys who is aiming to win her maiden grand slam title.

Onto the fantasy leaderboard and ‘PhenomeNOnadal’ had a magnificent day 10 as they extended their lead to 15 points over 2nd placed ‘Dropshots’. ‘2nd’ closes in and now sits just 1 point behind 2nd place. ‘Hawks Hackers’ moved up a spot and now occupies 4th place and ‘Stentastics’ regains their spot in 5th. Our 2nd team was eliminated on day 10 after the loss of Vondrousova. Ms.Hits have been eliminated and will remain second last.
