Wimbledon Championships – Day 10

Day 10 bring about the 2nd day of quarter-final action. The day started off with the 2 ladies quarter-finals. The first match on was between unseeded Australian, Tomljanovic and she was up against 17th seed, Rybakina. Tomljanovic unlike her previous 2 matches took the first set against the 17th seed. Rybakina though showed her class as she found a way to win the 2nd set and then go on and win the match to book her spot in the ladies semi-finals. The 2nd ladies match was between Halep the 16th seed and Anisimova the 20th seed. On paper it looked like a close match but just like her previous match, Halep proved to strong and is looking very hard to beat at this years championships. She will face Rybakina in the semi-finals after dropping just 6 games against the 20th seed. In the men’s draw Kyrgios managed to find his form again after a shaky match against Nakashima. Kyrgios beating Garin in straight sets. Nadal on the other hand had a very tough encounter against 11th seed, Fritz. Nadal lost the first set and then went off for a medical timeout in the 2nd set before taking that set. Fritz then took the 3rd before the fight of Nadal came through to eventually take the match in the 5th set super-tiebreak. Is this Kyrgio’s chance of making a grand slam final. He will definitely back himself against a Nadal that isn’t 100%.

Onto the fantasy leaderboard and instead of the lead at the top coming down it has gone up. An incredible display from ‘Team Kickbutt’ who is absolutely kicking everyone’s butt with their 24 point lead. ‘My Dream Team’ continues to hold onto 2nd place. ‘Boris the Grand Slammer’ and ‘Another Try’ are tied for 3rd while ‘The Last Minute Player’ hangs on in 5th spot.
