French Open – Day 12
Ladies semi-final day. The first semi-final was between the 1st seed, Swiatek, and 20th seed, Kasatkina. Swiatek amazingly lost just 3 games on her way to booking a place in Saturday’s final. Can anyone beat the number 1 in the world? The second semi-final was between 18th seed, Gauff, and unseeded Trevisan. Both players broke twice at the beginning of the 1st set. Gauff then managed to hold which allowed her to break to win the opening set 6-3. She used that momentum from the first set to drop just 1 more game in the 2nd set on her way to booking a meeting with Swiatek in the final. The final on Saturday is between former champion and 21 year old Swiatek and first time grand slam finalist and 18 year old Gauff. The battle of the youngsters…who comes out on top?
Onto the fantasy league and ‘Seize the Clay’ has a 13 point lead over ‘Forever and a Clay’ and ‘Drop Shots’ who are both tied in 2nd. A late surge from ‘General Grant’ moves hum up to 4th. ‘Never Nadal Moment’ sits in the last prize position…5th. ‘Nuts 2 U’ still holds the wooden spoon.
