Some big names struggled on day 6 of the Us Open. The biggest name being the number 1 in the world Ash Barty losing in a late night thriller against unseed, American Shelby Rogers. The American took the first set in just half an hour 6-2. Barty though as she does found a way and hit back with a 6-1 set. Barty then led 4-1 with a double break of serve in the deciding set. Rogers got one break down but Barty was serving for the match at 5-4. A tight deuce game pursued which Rogers managed to take and it was level again at 5-5. Both players held serve and we were going to a tiebreak. Rogers eventually coming through in a match to remember. A massive upset in terms of the fantasy tournament. A great win for the 18 year old Brit, Raducanu who beat Sorribes Tormo 6-0; 6-1. Pliskova, Andreescu and Bencic also took their matches in straight sets. Sakkari created an upset as she knocked out 10th seed Kvitova in straight sets. Swiatek survived a scare as she beat 28th seed Kontaveit in three sets. 6th seed Berrettini came through a five-set match against in form Ivashka. Djokovic hit back after losing the first set to Nishikori. The number 1 in the world managing to win in 4 sets. The 12th seed, Sinner, was up against 17th seed, Monfils, in the third round. Sinner managed to take an extremely tight first set against the Frenchman. This set him up as he used the momentum and took the second set 6-2. Monfils hit back though and took the third set 6-4. Sinner kept calm and served at 4-1 with a double break. But he let Monfils back into the set and Monfils took advantage as he won 5 games in a row to take the 4th set 6-4. The 12th seed though did manage to win the match 6-4 in the decider. He will face 4th seed, Zverev, in the 4th round. Young American, Brooksby managed to come back from a 2 sets to 1 deficit to defeat 21st seed, Karatsev, in 5 sets. South African, LLoyd Harris knocked out 7th seed Shapovalov in straight sets. He sets up a 4th round encounter against big server, Opelka, who also came through in straight sets.

Onto the fantasy league, we saw the loss of Shapovalov, Monfils, Karatsev, Nishikori, Barty, Tomljanovic, Kontaveit and Sorribes Tormo.

We have a new leader after day 6. ‘Lorna’s Leaderboard’ has taken the lead on 144 points. Just 1 point behind is ‘Dropshots’ who are on 143 points. Just 1 point behind 2nd is ‘Game Set Snack’ on 142 points. Between 1st and 7th is just 10 points. What a battle we are in for, for the 5 prize positions.
