French Open – Day 4

Day 4 marked the beginning of Round 2 and what a day it was. The day included 6, 5-set matches, which is just remarkable. Garin played McDonald for over 4 hours with the match finishing 8-6 in the fifth. Well played to both players. Day 4 didn’t see as many seeds falling but the big surprise on the day was Laaksonen defeating Bautista-Agut (11). Kei Nishikori played his second five set match which means that he has only played five set matches so far at Roland Garros. He managed to beat Khachanov(23) 6-4 in the fifth.

On the ladies side, Williams played an inspired Buzarnescu in a thriller. Williams managing to get through in 3 sets. Kasatkina knocked out the 10nth seed Belinda Bencic. She made it look easy with a 6-2, 6-2 win. Kudermetova ,the 29nth seed, played in a hard fought three set match. The 29nth seed eventually losing against unseeded Siniakova 7-5 in the decider.

Now onto the fantasy league. Day 4 saw the loss of 3 male picks and and 3 ladies picks. On the male side: Bautista-agut (4 picks), Paul (1 pick) and Fucsovics (2 picks) and on the female side: Kudermetova (1 pick), Bencic (7 picks), and Garcia (2 picks) all losing on day 4.

Now onto the leaderboard. ‘Servivors’ not only keep their top spot but move further ahead. ‘Romain Soula’, ‘Smash and Grab’ and ‘Cranky Kermit’ all hot on ‘Servivors’ heals. If you notice that you have moved down heavily today. Know that some teams have had most of the picks play on day 4 and you might have most of your picks play on day 5. Thus you have a chance of moving up today.
