It was a tough day to plan, wanting to do so much, in different parts of the city. One thing we didn’t want to miss while in London was the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace.\u00a0 This requires you to write-off a large chunk of the morning, as you need to arrive early so you can find a spot where can experience the spectacle without craning the neck and\/or being in the middle of the scrum.<\/p>\n

Nikki : Another scorcher of a day in London – temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius. We had slightly later start at Buckingham Palace this morning, but enjoyed the walk to the Palace and the banter amongst the tourists and security staff while waiting for the Changing of the Guards.\u00a0 The ceremony was impressive. After a short picnic in St James Park where I was briefly attacked by a pigeon.\u00a0 we headed off to Harrods – wow, wow, wow! <\/span><\/p>\n

Madame Tussauds<\/a> was our next stop and thanks to the London Eye combo<\/a> tickets, we had no waiting in a queue. It was so much fun mingling with these life-like famous people – loved it! After replenished ourselves at a local pub (which included Fish, chips, burger, pork sausages and of course mushy peas) we headed off to Oxford Street for a little shopping amongst many other people – busy, busy! We ended off the lovely day eating supper with Karin at Pizza Express<\/a> in Surbiton. It was a relief being away from the crowds we had been among all day in the heat in an air-conditioned room. Another GREAT day which ended with a surprise of yummy cupcakes as a pre-birthday celebration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
