The day started off earlier than usual. Nikki agreed to join me for an early morning sunrise swim at Cas Catala, a quaint little beach a few bus stops away from our hotel. Nikki was able to watch and chat to the regular bathers while I managed a fun swim to Calla Major and back. The temperature was already climbing as we walked back so it seemed we had made the correct decision to go early. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also had the realisation that today was a Sunday and not everything would be open for business. What a great excuse to make it a pool day. Nikki enjoyed her first Sangria by the pool and we took it nice and slow even watching some Wimbledon. We now understand siesta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the afternoon turned into evening, we changed gears (and I changed t-shirts again), got back on the bus and visited Palma old town. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We marveled at the Catedral-Bas\u00edlica de Santa Mar\u00eda de Mallorca from the outside and then took a walk through Royal Palace of La Almudaina which has been standing since the 13th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a Gelato break, we took a wander through the now quiet streets of the old town, and popped out into the Placa Major district which was very much alive. Buzzing, people shopping and many of them in the Sunday (night) attire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making our way back to the hotel we made a pitstop at Calla Major which was full to the brim, reminding us of Clifton on a hot summer’s weekend night, except it was now 8pm and the water was 32 degrees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dinner was at the friendly restaurant down the road from the hotel before we had a quick bag pack and then it was time to sleep. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another early morning start tomorrow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
