Day 13 and the 2nd last day of Wimbledon 2022. The day of the ladies final – Jabeur(3) vs Rybakina(17). A new champion would be crowned at this years championships but who would it be. Rybakina started off shaking as she struggled to find rhythm. This allowed Jabeur to control the first set in the way she should want to and she ended up breaking twice to take the set 6-3. The start of the 2nd set was very important for Rybakina. The first game of the 2nd, Rybakina broke and this settled her down and she started serving a lot better and her ground strokes became a lot more consistent. She managed to save a few break points in the set and thanks to that she applied scoreboard pressure to Jabeur. She broke the Tunisian twice to take the set 6-2. The final set was going to be determined by the beginning of the set and once again The Kazak managed to break Jabeur first game of the 3rd set. Jabeur hung around in the set and the pivotal game of the match was Rybakina serving at 3-2. The 17th seed found herself 0-40 and Jabeur had 3 break point opportunities. A big serve and big forehand saved the first one. The 2nd one was a brilliant point in which Jabeur just missed her dropshot wide and the 3rd seed was left with just 1 more break point remaining to take. This one was saved with a good serve and an amazing backhand down the line. 2 big serves and the game was won by Rybakina who now led 4-2. Jabeur couldn’t put the disappoint of the previous game behind her and was broken for a 2nd time. It was slipping away from the 3rd seed. Rybakina as expected was a bit shaky in what turned out to be the last game of the match. She found herself 15-30 down before Jabeur made 3 unforced errors to hand the game and the match to the 17th seed. We had ourselves a new Wimbledon champion and it is Elena Rybakina<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onto the fantasy leaderboard and there has been no change at the top of the leaderboard. ‘Team Kickbutt’ leads with ‘Boris the Grand Slammer’ in 2nd. A tie for 3rd between ‘My Dream Team’ and ‘Kick My Ace. ‘Grassettini’ remains in 5th. Congratulations to the 3 teams who picked the eventual champion Rybakina. These teams are highlighted in yellow – ‘Queen’s Jubilee’, ‘Met Ace Ja, Met Ace’ and ‘2nd Choice’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
