First up was the 3rd seed, Jabeur, and she was up against good friend, Maria who is having a dream run at this years Wimbledon championships. Jabeur looked like she had Maria all figured out from the get go and took the opening set 6 games to 2. Maria as she has done in all her matches found a way to hit back and she managed to take the 2nd set much to some peoples surprise. Jabeur though found a way to regain her concentration and raced away in the 2nd set. The number 3 seed dropping just 1 game in the final set to book her spot in a grand slam final. The 2nd semi-final of the day was between 16th seed, Halep, and 17th seed, Rybakina. Rybakina got the early break in the 1st set and led the past champion 3-0 opening set. Rybakina was serving extremely well and gave hardly anything away. This allowed her to hold that 1 break throughout the set. The 2nd set started in a similar fashion with Rybakina breaking Halep in the opening game and then holding serve to lead 2-0. This time however Halep did managed to break back and we were all square at 2-2. Once again Halep had a wobble on serve – losing her serve with another double fault and handing the break straight back to Rybakina. This time Rybakina did not hand the break back and actually ended up breaking Halep to win the match. An outstanding performance from the Kazak who will play Jabeur in the ladies final on Saturday. There will be a new grand slam winner but who will it be?

The other big news of yesterday was that the number 2 seed, Rafa Nadal, pulled out of his semi-final encounter against Kyrgios due to injury. Nadal saying that ‘he doesn’t want to play without having the chance to win.’ With regards to the leaderboard I have added Kyrgios’s points and Nadals points after this news.

Onto the fantasy leaderboard and ‘Team Kickbutt’ has a pretty much unassailable lead at the front. 2nd place 37 points behind is occupied by 3 teams, ‘My Dream Team’, ‘Boris the Grand Slammer’ and ‘Kick My Ace’. The last prize position is ‘Grassettini’ who sits in 5th. Day 11 with the news of Nadal and the loss of Halep meant we lost many teams. ‘Smash and Grab’, ‘The Raqueets’, ‘Fine Whines’, ‘Magic Team’, ‘StringTheory’, ‘Serve with Eish’, ‘Drops Short’, ‘Granny’s Geese’, ‘Strawberries and Cream’, ‘Pat’s Pick’ and ‘Slip and Slide’ were all eliminated on day 11.

Top Half

Bottom Half

 Results from day 11

Jabeur(3) beat Maria – 6-2; 3-6; 6-1

Rybakina(17) beat Halep(16) – 6-3; 6-3

Kyrgios beat Nadal(2) – Walkover

Matches to watch on day 12

Kichenok/Ostapenko(4) vs Krejcikova/Siniakova(2) (14:30)

Djokovic(1) vs Norrie(9) (16:00)

Mertens/Zhang(1) vs Collins/Krawczyk (18:00)

Day 11 is the day of the ladies semi-finals.
