Day 8 and the 2nd day of 4th round action. In the ladies draw we only saw 1 match go the full 3 sets. Tomljanovic managed to beat Cornet in 3 tight sets to book her spot in the quarter-finals. 17th seed, Rybakina, managed to navigate the tough opponent – Petra Martic – in straight sets. 16th seed and former winner here at Wimbledon, Simona Halep, made surprisingly light work of 4th seed, Badosa. The Romanian dropping just 3 games on her way to another Wimbledon quarter-final. 20th seed, Anisimova, finally ended Tan’s incredible run at Wimbledon. The American getting the job done in straight sets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the men’s draw there were some long matches played and some short matches played. Unseeded, Garin, incredibly came back from a 2 sets down to knock out 19th seed Australian, Alex De Minaur. Kyrgios survived a 5 set match against young American, Nakashima. He will go on to face Garin in the quarter-finals. 11th seed, American. Taylor Fritz, made quick work of Australian Kubler. Fritz will face Nadal in the quarter-finals. Nadal coming through van de Zandschulp in straight sets and looked good besides not being able to close the match out for a while. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onto the fantasy leaderboard and ‘Team kickbutt’ has raced away in the lead. They lead by an astonishing 18 points over ‘My Dream Team’ who sit in 2nd. ‘Shot in the Dark 2’, ‘Smash and Grab’ and ‘The last Minute Player’ are all tied in 3rd spot. ‘Boris the Grand Slammer’ drops out of the top 5 for the first time in a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
