Ladies Semi-final day and how unfortunate is this time difference because both ladies matches were competed at the highest level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first ladies semi-final was between the 2nd seed and most picked fantasy league player, Sabalenka and her opponent was American and 13th seed, Navarro who had played some outstanding tennis at this US Open. Sabalenka who has done this so many times before played a great first set to take it 6-3. The 2nd set however was anyone’s and it ended up going to a tiebreak. Sabalenka took the tiebreak 7-2 and took the match in straight sets to reach yet another grand slam final. Sabalenka now has a 26-1 record on hard court grand slam matches since the beginning of 2023. Exceptional record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2nd semi-final was between unseeded Muchova who was the best ladies pick heading into the semi-finals and she was up against home favourite and 6th seed, Pegula. Muchova started the match as she had for the last few rounds…simply unplayable and raced to a 6-1 lead and then took the early break to lead 2-0 in the 2nd set. She conjured up yet another break point which she unfortunately did not take and this point changed the momentum of the match as Pegula worked her way into the match. She managed to break back to level the 2nd set and then went on to take the 2nd set 6-4 and take the match into a decider. The decider was the opposite of the first set as Pegula was the unplayable player and she took the set 6-2 and the match to finally reach her first grand slam final and it is in front of her home fans as well. Can she somehow upset the favourite Sabalenka in the ladies final on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onto the fantasy leaderboard and ‘Sinner’s Physio’ continues to look untouchable out front as their lead extends to 27 points. ‘Fraud Watch’ has moved up 3 spots and into 2nd spot now with ‘Lord of the Strings’ remaining in 3rd spot. Out leader for so long ‘Concrete Jungle where dreams are made of’ have no dropped down to 4th. ‘Uncle Sam’s Army’ drops back down into 5th spot where they have been for so long. ‘Team Kickbutt’ consolidated 6th place while ‘Flush’ consolidated 7th place. This competition is heating up maybe not for the win but for the remaining 6 prizes certainly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One team was eliminated on day 11 and that was ‘In or Just Out’ who was 1 of just 3 teams to have picked Muchova. The other 2 teams are sitting 1 and 2. A great pick indeed. <\/p>\n\n\n
