Day 2 of the US Open and the end of round 1. Day 2 had a lot of action and there were a lot more surprises than on day 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noskova who was picked by 10 teams as their outside the top 32 lady pick lost in straight sets much to the disappointment of those 10 teams. Kenin won the battle against fellow grand slam champion Raducanu in a 3 set battle. Paolini continued her good grand slam form as she beat the 2019 US Open champion, Andreescu in 3 sets. The Italian coming back from a set down to take the match. Zarazua beat 28th seed, Garcia who’s form has just left her this year. Osaka impressed in her opening match and beat 10th seed, Ostapenko. The former champion dropping just 5 games on her way to the upset and the 2nd round. Dolehide picked by just 1 team produced a huge upset in terms of the fantasy league as she beat 11th seed, Collins, in 3 sets. Collins playing in her last grand slam was picked by 20 teams so a huge upset. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The names who booked their spot in the 2nd round include: Muchova, Pavlyuchenkova, Boulter, Swiatek, Andreeva, Wozniacki, Kalinskaya, Rybakina, Shnaider, Samsonova and Pegula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onto the mens side and the first upset of the day was 8th seed, Tsitsipas, picked by 17 teams was knocked out by Kokkinakis in 4 sets. The Australian was picked by 1 team who will be very pleased with themself. The next upset of the day was 19th seed, Auger-Aliassime who was knocked in a comfortable 3 sets by the 18 year old Mensik. 22nd seed, Tabilo also fell at the first stage against unseeded Goffin in straight sets. Evans managed to win what is now the longest match in US Open history (5 hours and 35min). He beat 23rd seed, Khachanov, 6-7(6); 7-6(2); 7-6(4); 4-6; 6-4. The last seed to fall on day 2 was 26th seed, Jarry, who lost in 4 sets against O’Connell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those who made it safely through to the 2nd round include: Alcaraz, Paul, Cobolli, Korda, Fils, Medvedev, De Minaur, Sinner, Arnaldi, Draper, Hurkacz, Machac and Thompson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onto the fantasy leaderboard and we have a change to the lead. ‘Dropshots’ who were sitting in 2nd yesterday have moved into top spot with a whopping 64 points after just 1 round. Exceptional picking for the 1st round anyway. ‘Hit and Run’ sit in 2nd moving up 3 places and are 5 points off the leader. ‘Go!’ moved up 2 spots and into 3rd place along with ‘Buena Suerta’ who moved up 5 spots and ‘Faulty Feet’ who moved up a huge 25 spots. The last prize is going to 2 teams who are sitting in a joint 6th, ‘Simply Smashing’ and ‘Concrete Jungle where dreams are made of’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wooden spoon has a new holder as ‘Hit and Miss’ moved down 4 spots into 78th place. However they sit just 1 point away from a 5 way tie for 73rd so all to play for at the top and the bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n
